Firmware for HP Pavilion 6736 cn (US/­CAN) Why do I need it?­ This firmware update is designed only for those systems already operating in Windows XP.­It will flash the new Windows XP compliant firmware version to M100 for customers that have upgraded from Windows Me to Windows XP.­ WARNING: You should only use this update if your existing Samsung SW-208F CD-RW drive is already using firmware revision FN07 or later (like FN09) and you are running the Windows-XP operating system.­ An update to address users who have firmware earlier than FN07 is under development and will be available as soon as possible.­ (You can check your existing firmware revision by opening Device Manager and checking the CD-RWâ&­#8364;&­#8482;s properties) How do I get it?­ Click on the 'Download Now' button on this page and store the file to a temporary directory on your hard drive you can locate quickly.­ What do I do with it?­ In Windows Explorer,­ go to the directory your file has been stored and double click on it (samsung_­fwupdate.­exe).­ This will cause the zipped fileto open the Unzip utility on screen.­ Click on Unzip and open the files to a blank floppy diskette in the A: drive.­ Next,­ using Windows Explorer,­ go to the A: drive and double sfdnw2k.­exe.­When the screen utility window opens,­ verify the correct drive (A:) is selected from the pull-down menu and click on the Open icon.­ Select the file 'M100.­bin'.­Next,­ click on the 'Down' icon and the firmware will be updated.­ When the update is finished,­ remove the floppy from the A: drive and reboot the PC.­ The update is complete.­ Compatible devices: P2907ACN
